Half Moon Island Picnic 2025
In Review
The CLIC Annual Half Moon Island Picnic was held on July 26 th from 11- 1(EST). This is
a free event that CLIC puts on annually. We had a beautiful sunny day and the perfect
setting for our American and Canadian friends to enjoy lunch together. Greg Miller from
the Border Agency was on site for easy Check-In.
We had several volunteers to help move all the equipment from the Conley camp to the
Island. This includes the grill, fryer, coolers, food and beverages plus soo much more.
It took two boat trips for all the goodies to get to the Island.
CariAnn Michaud and Julianne Spradlin greeted more than 200 guests as they arrived
at Half Moon Island, AKA Old Man’s Island. This year guests’ generously gave over
$600 in donations.
Lunch includes Maine’s Famous Red Hot-Dogs, what most say are the best French
Fries on East Grand Lake and soft drinks.
The Bradbury’ s from Snowberry Lane arrived with a second fryer for the famous French
Fries. They did the setup, filled it with oil and after the festivities were over, retrieved
their fryer! What an addition! We never ran short of Fries! Thank you to the Bradbury’s!!
Volunteers and CLIC members rallied together to make this event a huge success. To
name a few; Dan & Marie Ormerod, David Townsend, Elizabeth Quinonez, Jeremy &
CariAnn Michaud, Christen Spradlin & Julianne Spradlin, John & Lynne Johnson, and
Pat & Kathy Conley.
This year we had quite a few newcomers! There were several young families that tied
up boats and took advantage of the beautiful East Grand water and swam after lunch.
So many boats stayed throughout the picnic and some boats couldn’t find docking!
We cooked up about 220 Red Hot-dogs, fried up about 20 bags of the best French
Fries, and several cases of soda and water! All and all it was a great success!
We look forward to 2026 picnic. Mark your calendars for July 25th!
We hope to see you there!
